If you shine light at an angle steeper than the Critical Angle, it cannot escape! It reflects back inside completely, like a trap.
This is how Fiber Optic cables (like the ones bringing internet to Lagos) work. Light signals bounce down the glass cable for kilometers without leaking out, carrying data at the speed of light.
