Heat is a form of energy that flows from a hot object to a cold object. It is the total kinetic energy of the molecules inside the substance.
Do not confuse it with Temperature! Temperature is just a measure of how hot or cold something is (average kinetic energy), whereas Heat is the actual energy being transferred.
