Gravity is a force of attraction that exists between any two masses. The Earth pulls on you, and believe it or not, you pull on the Earth too! But because the Earth is so massive, its pull dominates.

On the surface of the Earth, gravity causes all free-falling objects to accelerate downwards at roughly 9.8 meters per second squared (often rounded to 10 m/s² in exams). This is why if you drop a mango and a pure water sachet, they fall at the same rate (ignoring air resistance).
