You hit the nail on the head! It is very similar to math, but think of it more like a plastic container in your mother's kitchen. You might put sugar in it today, and salt tomorrow.
The container has a label (the variable name), and the stuff inside is the value. In coding, we use variables to hold information we want to remember later—like a player's score or a user's name from Abuja.
In my physics research, we used variables to track things like temperature. In your app, you might use it to track how many Naira a user has in their wallet. It's just a placeholder for data.
