What are 'Comments' and why should I use them?

Comments are notes you leave for yourself or others, starting with a #. Python completely ignores them.

I always tell my students: write comments like you are leaving directions for a friend visiting your house for the first time. In six months, you will forget why you wrote a piece of code. Your comments will save you a lot of stress!
